Cameron has 20 years of finance experience, having worked for Chartered Accounting firms for 10 years, including the likes of Coopers and Lybrand. He specialised in the Business Service section, focusing on small to medium sized businesses within Australia.

In 1994 Cameron moved to London and into the Commercial environment working for an American energy company for three years. Returning to Australia in 1997 he started working for Channel 7 as part of the Senior Finance team where he stayed for four years. Cameron has also been the Finance Director of a telecommunications company, and the Financial Controller of the Real Estate Institute of NSW.

Cameron's qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics, Master of Economics, Australian Chartered Accountant, Diploma in Business (Real Estate Management) and Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment.
